EDF won't pay me promised credit for getting a smart meter installed
Was being pestered by EDF to get smart meters installed, they finally offered me £100 credit if I agreed. Cost of living crisis etc., readily agreed, meters fitted about 2 months ago, no sign of credit, EDF now want copy of email they sent to me promising this, as this was more than 3 months ago it has been deleted. Shocking company would avoid them like the plague.

Shocking that you don't retain copies of emails longer than three months. It is prudent to retain emails for six years, especially if they relate to financial transactions (e.g. banking, energy, etc).maghater said:Was being pestered by EDF to get smart meters installed, they finally offered me £100 credit if I agreed. Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Absolutely. When the likes of Gmail allow 10Gb of email storage there isnt any real need to delete unless emails have huge file attachments.FreeBear said:

Without the email is it also possible that you've misremembered the details of the email and it wasn't actually £100 credit on the bill but some other offer.maghater said:Was being pestered by EDF to get smart meters installed, they finally offered me £100 credit if I agreed. Has anyone else heard of EDF, or any other supplier, offering a £100 credit just for installing smart meters?I'm not surprised they are asking for a copy of the email...1

Hi,google found THIS.5

Thanks to help from tech savvy daughter have been able ti retrieve email, and a message saying credit would appear 30 days after meters fitted (actually 60 days) So presumably I will get my promised credit. Going to tell them to shove it as soon as cash is in my account. So a PR disaster for EDFMWT said:Has anyone else heard of EDF, or any other supplier, offering a £100 credit just for installing smart meters?I'm not surprised they are asking for a copy of the email...3 -
