Courier asking for proof I've refunded buyer?

i would also get the buyer to open a case so it's all done correctly and to prevent them claiming again elsewhere e.g with credit/bank card or through paypal. I'm sure some of the more experienced sellers will come along to correct me if i'm wrong. If your buyer is honest ad bonafide they won't mind and will be happy to do it all by the book. From what i understand this protects you too.

This is a Catch 22 situation though, if OP asks buyer to open a case then buyer must know if they open that case seller could easily get it closed immediately with proof of delivery, so its a gamble for the buyer.girlchops said:i would also get the buyer to open a case so it's all done correctly and to prevent them claiming again elsewhere e.g with credit/bank card or through paypal. I'm in the exactly the same situation as a buyer and I basically have absolutely nowhere to turn with any claim. I do have a plan though, and currently that doesn't involve opening an INR case until I have a very good chance of being able to win it.

I guess seller could send a screenshot of the message saying the courier will pay out, to give the buyer some confidence that they will get a refund through the case.soolin said:

In my case RM have told me that my seller can raise a claim which will be paid, but seller is being told that due to the fact he used a business account with no access to any compensation he will not get paid out. My RM people won't talk to 'his' RM people so it is stalemate. It really is all down to trust but with the case in this thread I can't see that the buyer has any other choice other than to trust seller to refund them- but an INR case won't help either way.Spoonie_Turtle said:

When I used to get INR claims where tracking showed as delivered I would ask the buyer to open an INR, call eBay straight away and have it closed (they seem to make you wait 3 business days now before closing the case) and explain to the buyer what has happened adding that they should appeal the case to eBay who might refund them.soolin said:

These were all low value orders and I never heard back from the buyers so either they wasn't truthful, couldn't be bothered or got the refund from eBay but my account was protected which was the main reason for asking the buyer to open an INR.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces2 -
As a seller I would advise anyone to do the same, protect your own account first then assist the other party.
