link to the petition.. please feel free to join in.
  • depends on your circumstances - but when we had our meter fitted there was zero hassle. They knocked on the door to say the water will be off for about an hour. Knocked about 20 minutes later to say they we're done.

Just as much (if not less) hassle than signing a petition. And with a meter you'd probably save more anyway.

    Just my opinion...

    What petition?

There is no "hassle" of having a water meter fitted, and for all but the most wasteful it generally works out cheaper. If one cannot have a water meter fitted then one can request an assessed charge for a single occupants which would be lower than the normal rated cost, but that can only be requested if it is not possible to fit a water meter.

Judging from the number of signatures, the answer to 'is anyone interested in this petition' seems to be 'no'.

As Matt says, just go through the process above. I pay £12/month for my metered water and any imagined 'hassle' (there was none) was well worth it.

As the petition states, 'A single person is likely to use less water than a larger household' - so get a meter and enjoy those lower prices!

How it is a hassle? Before long, everyone will have a meter anyway.... (or be on assessed if you can't have one, in which case there is a single occ tariff)
