Don’t know about Netflix but I tried Nowtv which had ads, cancelled after a month as I did not appreciate the number and intrusiveness of them.1

I cancelled Netflix a year ago but use Brave browser and was wondering if the browser would cut out the adverts like it does with tubi TV. The £4.99 option has fewer shows than any of the other options as far as I am aware.
Over the years even commercial stations adverts have increased from about 8 minutes per hour to around 18 to 21 minutes today.Someone please tell me what money is0 -

In practice that's more like nine minutes as the extra three is "teleshopping"/other promotions. The 20 minutes of ad is more common in the US and you'll notice that more on Sky Atlantic which shows bulk of imported programming from US networks, so you have all those filler programmes to run up to the hour, as the main content only runs for about 41 minutes these days. There were proposals to change this recently but whether anything goes ahead is another matter.0 -

Even on the BBC a "half hour" is 28-29 minutes to allow for the trailers and continuity announcements.0
