Buying from Europe in euros

Hi does anyone have experience of buying from Europe from the uk using euros?
We are buying a motorhome from a German dealer and need to pay in euros. We can of course just transfer using IBAN and although this is possibly the safest method, the exchange rates banks use seems to be lower than most, and there is a cost.
Has anyone had experience of using a third party such as TorFx? They hold your money until there is a good exchange rate and then pay the bill. I am slightly worried about sending them a large amount of money in case it’s a scam????

Open a Wise.com euro account & add euro's to that account when the exchange rate is good ( like now ).
Transfer the money to the dealer by bank transfer.
All transfers in & out of your Wise.com account are made in seconds.

We have used https://www.currencyfair.com/ which works similar to wise but charges a flat rate of £/€3 per transaction whereas wise charge a %

Off topic, but I assume that you have researched the complexities of importing from the EC. As part of thr Brexit dividend this is no doubt much more complicated than buying would have been a few years ago. Presumably there will be UK VAT to pay on entry to the UK and possibly some other fees. You should I imagine be paying the German dealer the price excluding German VAT. Are you importing it in person or using an agent? It would be interesting to hear what the process involves.2
