Ignore the monthly direct debit, that isn't your bill.

Compare the unit rates and standing charges against what you think the variable rate might be (we know what it will be from July - Sept already).

Never a truer word spoken.  Our monthly DD is £68.  Our bill last month was £29.68 . . .
Bill was £29.68.  Wow!! Who with may I ask.  My Standing charge alone for electric comes in about £15 a month.

I have been with SO Energy for couple of years and am currently on SO Flex tariff. Following Martin’s programme this week I tried to change my account to SO Juniper fixed rate tariff. As an existing customer I can not remember having received any email offering this new tariff.

Having had no luck on line I phoned Customer Helpline to be informed tariff was frozen to new applications. Feeling rather frustrated I emailed SO Energy expressing my hope that applications were not being reserved purely for new customers.

I have just received a reply email response from SO stating this tariff has been stopped due to “an increase in wholesale energy prices”.

Excuse me for being rather cynical but how have we had  a wholesale energy price increase in this latest heatwave.

    Can anyone enlighten me?

It does look like my one has gone through. When I login into my So Energy acc and click on Plan it states my current plan and plan from 1 July which is So Juniper.
I did not get an email it was on my account that i could fix my rate.It was olso been offered on Uswitch  now ended.
