  • Chase not so competitive on interest rates these days (after tempting a lot of money into them over the last year or two). 4.1% is below quite a few banks now

Not had any issues here, use the card mainly for the cashback.
I have had the odd payment be delayed longer than usual so have messaged them and its been resolved, sometimes was delays but more recently payments go almost instantly.
Just wondering now if the cashback will continue after the 1%, £15 limit year ends.  Will they do it again for another year or just stop the cashback?

I no longer use the savings account due to higher rates elsewhere so I literally only use this card for my day to day spending as I can get a small amount back.

Personaly I've had no issue in using them, only thing I would say is the app needs some tweeks. Chances are I will be moving back to them as my sole secondry account  for the cash back and round ups and 1% on balances once the new financial year starts. Until some better combination turns up at least.

With every payment I have used through Chase, from launch, when I click Add, alongside reference, all previous references used are visible and can be clicked to populate the field 🤷‍♂️
Only the last two in my experience - a third has fallen off (have used three with Monmouthshire BS, Principality BS and Saffron BS.) Useful in some circumstances, though (the reference for a now transferred ISA that there didn’t seem to be an option to remove manually.)

Were it not for the monthly pay in meaning the money was with Chase, I probably wouldn’t make these sorts of payments via Chase just in case I forgot to add the reference. Though currently if you need to change a reference, it’s a lot easier than Nationwide who now seem to have changed it back!

They likely want people attracted by the whole banking package rather than simply 'rate tarts' as they'll not use their other products like the planned credit card and sister brand nutmeg for investments.
  • Overall, I like CHASE.

You might be right, they might want to attract people to thei whole package. It wouldn't work with me, not least because I have no intention to have all my finances with a single bank as I consider this too high risk. With most banks and building societies using faster payments these days, there's little incentive for keeping everything with the same bank.

I have used their savings account when it was a market leader by a wide margin. They stopped being a market leader nearly two years ago, so my money moved two years ago. If they ever trump other savings rates again, I might well move some of my money back to them.

I have tried out Nutmeg when they offered a joining bonus. Sadly, it was a less than impressive experience, not least because they don't trade each working day. There are numerous other investment apps which I like much better, and I cannot see any advantage in having my investments visible in / accessible through the same app as my current accounts and savings account. I doubt I will ever be interested again in Nutmeg.

Their credit card has yet to materialise. If it's better than my Amex and my ancient 18 year old Barclaycard, both cashback cards, I might apply for it.

Their current account isn't of much interest to me. I get the same/better cashback via my credit cards, and I prefer spending with credit rather than debit cards. I do pay off my credit cards in full each month. I get around £60 a year in DD cashback, after fees, in my 123 Lite account. Chase have never beaten this, and I doubt they ever will. As you say, they aren't after 'rate tarts', aka people who aren't interested in elusive loyalty to a given bank.
  • I just checked, I opened my CHASE account in March 2022 and have received £862.36 in cashback. I don't know where I could have got better than that.

Not earning any at the moment though, got the Hyperjar card at 1.5%/2.5% cashback until the end of March.
