i briefly parked for less than 3minutes in a disable bay to quickly nip into the store to collect my partners badge while she was shopping because she was drove in another car shopping which i did. but to my surprise, after some few weeks,  i received a parking charge by G24 stating that i was parked in a disable bay without permit which makes me question how long they've stood there to observe if i will put the badge permit or not. i was angry and decided to ignore their letter for sometime only for them to refer me to a debt collecting company who i also ignored until they sent me a letter given me 14days before taking me to court. please can anybody advice me. should i pay the £170 fine or still continue to ignore because their 14days ultimatum expire in 2days time.

The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread explains exactly how to deal with debt collector's letters, but to summarise that post - ignore them.

Just ignore. DO NOT PHONE THEM.

NO PAYING!  Nothing to fret about.  Stop taking £170 inflated threatograms so seriously.

Just ignore G24 and the daft third party debt demands for £170, and come back if you get a court claim or solicitor's LBC (see 2nd and 4th posts of the NEWBIES thread).

There's no risk and certainly don't pay it!

Tell G24 if you move house though; you must never leave a PPC with a possible old address to send a claim form to, years down the line, because they can and do cause CCJs that way.  Claims unseen are risky but all is OK as long as you are seeing all the laughable letters.

G24 are not very litigious so we'd mainly signpost you to post 4 of the NEWBIES thread and please don't tell us any more updates about the usual dross £170 threatograms!

    DO COME BACK IN JULY/AUGUST!

We need you to do the Government's upcoming final PUBLIC CONSULTATION on the level of parking charges.

You owe it to yourself. We'll be all over it here!

  • Please do you advise me to inform G24 if I move house since I've not communicated any of my details or even spoken to them?

As you have received a PCN from them, it means that your V5C logbook address is your current address. They got your address from the DVLA.

You can ignore everything from G24 and any subsequent debt collector letters. G24 are not likely to litigate. However, to be safe, you need to remember that should you change address within 6 years of the alleged contravention, you should then inform G24  that they must "erase" your old address and update their records with your new address.

I already said why you must.  And I explained why.

Thanks for your inupt on these @Coupon-mad.
But isnt there a risk that if you do eventually have to pay, you lose the chance to pay 40% of the charge?

Eh? What risk? You never pay.

I don't understand for a nanosecond why anyone thinks the bribe is a bargain 'chance'. Also there's never an offer to pay 40%.
