First Ever PCN - Should I Pay It

Hello helpful people. I am not really up on PCN's etc. but I have got my first PCN dated 07/06 from UKPC. I was parked in a disabled bay in a supermarket car park, blue badge was displayed. I admit looking at the pictures they have provided I didn't park in the bay, I was in the hatched markings on the driver’s side, and this was so I could get the person with me out of the passenger side and into their wheelchair.
I don’t think I have a leg to stand on, so should I just suck this up and pay the £50 as the driver, I don’t want to risk a CCJ etc. I've parked here for years, and often like this in this car park, but never got a PCN before. I do remember the parking attendant on the car park wandering up and down so I guess he took the photos when I went in the supermarket.
I can't really afford this, as I am on a low income, but I think I'd rather pay the £50 than have the hassle and increased costs.

Why not complain to the supermarket?
Surely that is the common sense first action?3 -
No, do not pay ever!3

Have you gone back to the supermarket and asked them to get the pcn cancelled? - They can do this - they say they can't but then can.2

The signage is way to small on these signs, and too high up. I am not exactly tall, and my eyesight whilst safe to drive (I have diabetes, the DVLA know this) I could never read the sign in the car park, even if I was on a ladder face to face with it, and had a spy glass!0 -
The hatched markings are part of a disabled bay. You were not outside of the bay, which is deliberately wider (the hatchings) to allow disabled persons to get in/out.
Of course you don't pay!
Here's a matching thread today:

Why don't you just do what the NEWBIES thread specifically coaches people with a windscreen PCN to do? Template appeal from the registered keeper on day 25?
That's the easiest thing to do. Kills it off. As long as you DON'T say who was driving.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Been to the supermarket and spoke to a manager who is not interested and just directed me to Emersons who own the land. Nothing ASDA can do apparently.
The picture attached to the PCN online clearly shows the signage on the floor, having fallen from the pole it's supposed to be securely attached to, could this be classed as poorly displayed signage, not maintained propery?

Today, the signage is still the same

I've called the land owner and explained this, and they have cancelled the PCN with UKPC.3 -
