some may find the follwoing interesting. The ASA investigated a complaint about the advertising for this, along similar lines as OP mentioned:

well, I just got back and Im disappointed. Our viewing time was 11-11.30. we had to queue for half an hour to even get in.

Once in there you couldn't get near the cases because it was just so crowded. It seemed like a few artifacts and a lot of posters and writing. In fairness, the British Museum has a much better Egyptian department.

Prices in the shop were astronomical. They wanted £20 for a DVD on the exhibition and little wooden scarabs that were 3 for £1.50 in the British Museum rise to 4 for £5.99 in the exhibition shop!

The best thing was the free guide that came with the Sunday Times, being sold in the shop for £3.99!

My advice to anyone considering going would be to save your £20 and go to the British Museum instead.

In other words - completely useless. A chocolate teapot would melt if you tried to use it.

According to the info on the O2 site the mask is not allowed to leave Egypt so you will need to visit Cairo to see it!

i went to the Cairo when i was a kid (1981 i think) still did not see the death mask in the Cairo muisum (sp) as it was on tour in europe apparently:confused: prehaps we are just not destined to see it .. i have seen the pyramids :j they are awsome - you wont get them visiting london anytime soon:rotfl:

lol,my experience of the Terracotta Warrior exhibition at the British Museum wasn't much better......for £13.50 per ticket, I didn't expect it to be so packed and could barely see most of the exhibits, although the actual warriors were great. Perhaps the crowds have calmed down now though as it's been going for a few months.

The Egyptian galleries however are absolutely fantastic.....and they are free! Take your own lunch though as the restuarants are overpriced.
