The extra months you've had added on to the 10 year validity don't count anymore - so the effective expiry of your passport is 23/9/2023 - 10 years after issue.
No!  That's exactly the sort of misinformation that gets propagated around on social media, etc, and causes confusion for those such as OP - there are now two separate checks as clearly defined above, one of which recognises the printed (extended) expiry date but the other doesn't....
The OP could still be denied boarding or entry - their passport should be valid, but there is a risk that Jet2 or the border guard will deem it not to be. Travel insurance also doesn't pay out if documents are deemed invalid.

Personally, I'm renewing my passport at the end of this year, well ahead of the printed expiry, but in line with 10 years since issue.

Nonsense - the official requirements for EU entry do not vary among airline staff or border officials. They are fixed and clear as stated above, mistaken interpretations and opinions should not be propagated.
The expiry date printed in a UK passport never loses its validity, it is only for EU entry that regulations require it to be within ten years from date of issue.

Just spoke to jet2 call centre first she's says 6 months I says no gov website says 3 so she googled it to check🤦 but she was also saying I need 3 months before the 10 year date

Why do you continue looking for confusion by such enquiries, when the factual information is available and given above..?

You believe definitive sources such as the UK Government Foreign Office, the authoritative EU statements, and the Spanish government authorities.

    https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain/entry-requirements#passport-validity
https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/travel/entry-exit/non-eu-nationals/index_en.htm (linked from the gov.uk page)
    https://www.exteriores.gob.es/Consulados/londres/en/ServiciosConsulares/Paginas/Consular/Condiciones-de-entrada-en-Espana.aspx

As above, Jet2 as a company know the rules, but with the best will in the world, not all of their front line call centre staff will be adequately trained in something that's not directly their responsibility - the Ts & Cs of your flight or holiday will make it clear that you are responsible for ensuring that your documents are valid.

Don't believe those on Facebook (or on here....) who choose to propagate unhelpful myths and misleading unattributed rumours.

In fact your best bet is to bin Facebook. There is nothing on it of any value so why not just drop it.

The same with Twitter and pretty much any social media.

    Facts are much better.

It's not really difficult so there's no excuse for frontline staff not knowing the rules as they currently stand for the EU. Fair enough if it was asking for the visa requirements for Cameroon! They certainly shouldn't be giving out the wrong info and worrying people unnecessarily.

As you say though the definitive sources for immigration information are the responsible government websites of the country you are entering.

Of course it would help if we had a media that was interested in informing people and passing on correct information rather than trying to scare people that them furriners are coming for your rights again.

Tick tock is an invaluable source of validity however.
