Passport validity panic!

Issue date 24th September 2013
Expiry date January 2024

Going to tenerife 13th June Leaving 23rd june

I booked this months ago read the rules thought I was fine, once I've looked into it further after seeing a tui post yesterday there is alot of information saying different things like the passport has to be 9.9months from issue due to the extended valid date not being considered anymore?
Am I fine either way since I'll have 1 day to spare?

Can anybody clear this up and save my anxiety I didn't sleep last night🤦

You can enter the EU up to ten years after passport issue (23 September 2023) and must leave by three months before expiry (October 2023).

    Your passport must be:

    • issued less than 10 years before the date you enter the country (check the ‘date of issue’)
    • valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave (check the ‘expiry date’)

You passport issue date needs to be less than 10 years before the day of arrival on EU.

The expiry date must be at least 3 months after the date of leaving the EU.

Your issue date is 24 September 2013  so you are  inside 10 years.

Your expiry date of 24 January 2024 is still valid.

The exclusion of the extended time is only applicable for your arrival.

The extra months you've had added on to the 10 year validity don't count anymore - so the effective expiry of your passport is 23/9/2023 - 10 years after issue.

No!  That's exactly the sort of misinformation that gets propagated around on social media, etc, and causes confusion for those such as OP - there are now two separate checks as clearly defined above, one of which recognises the printed (extended) expiry date but the other doesn't....

The fact that she had to Google the answer tells you all you need to know, but Jet2 publish the correct answer on their website (albeit only with the numbered questions, there is still a misleading comment prior to that):

    Passport Validity
As the UK is no longer part of the European Union, EU countries now require UK passports to be less than ten years old and still be valid for at least three months at the time you're due to leave their country. To check your passport is valid for travel, ask the two questions for each person on your booking (including children) – if the answer is yes, you’re ready to go!

    1. On the day you arrive into the EU, will your passport’s “Date of issue” be less than 10 years old?

    2. On the day you leave the EU, will your passport have at least three months remaining (based on the “Date of expiry”)?
