Hi all,
I'm going through policy documents terms and conditions
All the insurance quotes generated have the following condition in their policy booklet/ Car Insurance guide.
It says extra condition.  Also I wouldn't know if this extra condition is applicable to me until I get policy schedule,  until I make payment.

Are the motor insurers demanding customers to buy trackers and network subscriptions, without which they will reject claims?

I called one insurer & they said it is customer wide policy, this is our t&c
You may look at other insurer,  if this is not suitable for you.
After this,  he said,  Im not well versed with claims terms,  I'm in a new policy team,  so I may not know all about it.

What do you all make of it. Please see screenshot

The text under the header is key... it only applies if its shows on your Policy Schedule.

Most insurers have an endorsement requiring a functioning tracker with subscription but they only apply it to either high value vehicles and/or certain models. When I had my Merc at least 50% of companies put a tracker endorsement on when it was brand new, as it aged and depreciated less insurers wanted it.

Many insurers will inc the text in all policywordings and just apply it via the schedule. Others wont have it in the wordings but apply the full text like the above in the schedule.

Its the same with home insurance, some will be required to have a working burglar alarm if they've over £100,000 of valuables in the home and others will be required to have it because they've declared they have it.

Esure call them endorsements, and the tracker is number 13, been there for years, but you don't need one unless that endorsement is active.

As DullGreyGuy says, they only apply to your policy if they are listed on the schedule of insurance (not the certificate). There will be a section that in your case says "Extra conditions that apply" and it will state none, or have some numbers that refer to the list.
