Preparing Defence for UKPC Court Claim

You were expecting that weren't you?TheCornishGuy said:Ok so it looks like DCB legal are hanging on in there.
I have received an email from DCB Legal today informing me that their client intends to proceed with the claim, in the email they have attached a completed copy of the Claimant's N180 directions questionnaire and they also confirm that this has been filed to the court.
Item 7 on that checklist you were following when you filed a Defence says...Items 8, 9 and 10 on that list might be worth another read too.
Probably best to wait for the CCBC to send you one.TheCornishGuy said:I am yet to receive a copy from the court so instead of waiting for mine, shall I just complete it and send it off to the court ASAP?2 -
Yes but I was expecting it to be sooner as I filed my defence a month ago.
Since then I have had several calls and an email from DCB Legal as they have tried to contact me to settle the claim - I ignored all correspondence and now have received 'our client intends to proceed with claim' email. They also go on to mention this in the email: ''Without Prejudice to the above, in order to assist the Court in achieving its overriding objective, our client may be prepared to settle this case - in the event you wish to discuss settlement, please call us on 0203 434 0433 within 7 days and make immediate reference to this correspondence''.
Ok I will wait for the CCBC one.0 -
The CCBC is taking two months at the moment.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

How did you acknowledge the service of the claim form?TheCornishGuy said:Ok I have never accessed the MCOL before- do I need to register? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Yes you do need to register and if you were following the guidance here you would've registered when filing an Acknowledgment of Service earlier.TheCornishGuy said:Ok I have never accessed the MCOL before- do I need to register?
You can register now if you want by following the directions in the Dropbox file linked from the second post of the NEWBIES thread.
But frankly, in your position, I wouldn't bother.
Just wait patiently for a Directions Questionnaire from the CCBC to drop through your letterbox. As has been said, it might be a couple of months away.1 -
@Umkomaas I have managed to register with the MCOL now.0

Can anyone please help?
I have received my Directs Questionnaire from the court and I am a bit unsure on answering question E1; they're asking which local County Court hearing centre would I prefer - I live in Birmingham so do I just put that one down and state the reason for my choice is because its in the close proximity of where I'm currently located.0
