So, we might be breaking our fix with Eon Next early due to the price drops from 1st July and predictions going forward til the end of our fix in Apr 2024.

I can quite easily get half hourly reads as evidenced by the energy shift events through loop

We have a smets1 Elster AS300P

Before we switch to Octopus to have a play with Agile and then maybe cosy has anyone else got this smets1 meter and working for half hourly reads with Octopus.

Cheers

Your SMETS1 meter needs to have been enrolled on and adopted by the DCC for Octopus to access your Elster data.

Do Eon still charge you for breaking the fix if you move to their SVT? Wondered if you could do that and then change suppliers so you avoid the fee.

Eon Next have only recently introduced exit fees to its fixed rates, fixes taken out 2021/22 had no exit fees.

.....prepare to be amazed at how quick the switching process takes. I started the process on a Thursday morning, was on their SVR on Saturday and Agile on Sunday. Don't blink - you'll miss it!

Just had my Agile bill this morning and it's like going from Economy 7 to Economy 21. That is, outside the peak 16:00 to 19:00 period I've averaged less per kWh than I was paying for E7 night rate. Very easy to keep track of with the Octopus Watch app - once you've got your account set up you can see a daily breakdown of how much you've spent.

Don't forget to add a referral code to get your £50 credit.

So looking into it deeper the max is 100p what do you think prices will look like in July for the 4-8pm period as currently for my Eastern region 35p appears to be the max looking on the agileprices website.

Do we think the max prices will mimic the price cap so 30.72p for our region come 1st July or should I wait and see what happens that first week in July?

    Info here:

The most I've seen Agile prices for East Midlands is 35p/kWh-ish so come 1st July that would take the prices up to 52p/kWh-ish for the 16:00 to 19:00 period without the EG discount. Outside that period, prices haven't been high enough to benefit from the EPG discount so other things equal shouldn't be effected (subject of course to the obvious caveat about them being variable - i.e. the EPG going won't effect them but other things might).

All caveated with "if I've understood it correctly" - if anyone is rolling around laughing at my stupidity perhaps they could correct me after they've wiped the tears from their eyes :)

Have just had confirmation that I'll be an Outgoing Octopus customer as of Friday so it will be a long time before I need to pay them anything. It took a whole week to get on Outgoing Octopus, but to be fair I didn't have any of the necessary paperwork so I suppose that's not too bad :):):)

Octopus can auto read "Secure" branded SMETS1 meters

But that obviously doesnt help in this case as they have a different type of meter

I'm mostly sure that Loop get their data from the DCC, so it seems like your meter is Agile-ready.
