Following on from my last post, here is an image of my son’s newly installed (today) SE system. There is a difference of more than 10% between best and worst panels. No shading.
Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kWwest facing panels , 3.6 kWeast facing), Solis inverters installed 2018, 5kW SSE facing system (shaded in afternoon) added in 2025 with Tesla PW3 battery, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted A2A Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner.1 -

And to illustrate the issues with shading, here's a fuller view of my system. The left hand bank, right hand side is shaded in the morning but as the sun comes round from about mid day it gets full sun. Not ideal but I wanted to get maximum use of the roof. The panel in the middle of the right hand bank, 1.0.13 is faulty, not the optimiser. You can tell by the fact that it has approximately 2/3rd of the rest indicating a bypass diode. Need to get the scaffolding up!

It was about an hour after the installation was completed this afternoon.
