    Following on from my last post, here is an image of my son’s newly installed (today) SE system. There is a difference of more than 10% between best and worst panels. No shading.


    Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)

    That must've been very early in the day. Or he's having terrible weather!
    What did it look like by the end of the day, still a 10% difference?

    2.72kWp PV facing SSW installed Jan 2012. 11 x 247w panels, 3.6kw inverter. 34 MWh generated, long-term average 2.6 Os.
    Not exactly back from my break, but dipping in and out of the forum.

    And to illustrate the issues with shading, here's a fuller view of my system. The left hand bank, right hand side is shaded in the morning but as the sun comes round from about mid day it gets full sun. Not ideal but I wanted to get maximum use of the roof. The panel in the middle of the right hand bank, 1.0.13 is faulty, not the optimiser. You can tell by the fact that it has approximately 2/3rd of the rest indicating a bypass diode. Need to get the scaffolding up!

    It was about an hour after the installation was completed this afternoon. He just sent me it to show he was up and running.
