Hi,
I’ve been following the guidance with regards to ignoring debt collection letters and have now reached the court letters stage.
I’ve been following the guidance with regards to ignoring debt collection letters and have now reached the court letters stage.
Appreciate you have all gone through this countless times but could anyone guide me through the next steps as I’ve tried to read previous posts but it seems to confuse me more than anything.
thanks in advance.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'court letters stage' please? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

If it is a letter before/of claim or a N1 claim form then second post of Newbie sticky takes you through the process.2

In order to be assisted @MaximusOrbis you really need to supply more details?
As above, start by reading the NEWBIES thread then come back and confirm what stage you are actually at.2 -
I’ve received actual court papers so I believe I have to acknowledge them and let them know I plan to defend my case according to the newbies thread? That’s the point when I get confused and what to do next?0

This is the letter I’ve received

The following is in the NEWBIE sticky; which bit did you not understand: -So, Where to start dealing with your claim?
DON'T SCRAWL A 'DEFENCE' ON THE PAPERWORK. STOP!
Here is a guide to MCOL, how to acknowledge service ('AOS'):

Newbies/FAQ thread, second post, explains in detail.1

With a Claim Issue Date of 30th May, you have until Monday 19th June to file an Acknowledgment of Service but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 3rd July 2023 to file your Defence. That's over four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.3 -
Thanks for the replies, I’m just on with acknowledging the claim and my defence. The letters & court papers have come to a different address than my driving licence and car registered address does this help my claim in anyway?I own the property but my ex-partner and children live there.0

Are you sure that your V5C does not have your ex-partner's address on it? As long as you are sure that you will receive any correspondence about this claim then it won't matter. However, if there is no guarantee, in order to miss any vital correspondence and avoid a default CCJ, then email the DPO at UKPC, DCB Legal and the CCBC of your correct correspondence address and instruct them, UKPC and DCB Legal in particular to "ERASE" your other address.MaximusOrbis said:Thanks for the replies, I’m just on with acknowledging the claim and my defence. The letters & court papers have come to a different address than my driving licence and car registered address does this help my claim in anyway?I own the property but my ex-partner and children live there.2
