beware of this company - previously recommended on MSE and a £10 discount offered.  however, none of that is any use if they wont pay out a genuine claim because of a ridiculous clause!  i have just had a lost phone claim rejected because the phone sim card wasnt used on the day of the loss, and the day before.  the proof of usage from the network stated it was last used on 19th May but it was lost around 1am on 21st May so not even 2 days later.  Was at home on the day in between when i just use my wifi for messenger and whats app calls but because not using the network apparently the device was not used up until the actual event! so for people working at home and using wifi rather than network minutes and data etc this means you might fall into this category.  and as for being used up until the event - it was lost so if id been using it up until it was lost, it wouldnt actually be lost!  
its as if they just want the flimsiest of reasons to reject your claim.  i have been insured with them a couple of years now, so its not as if im a serial claimant

Definitely make a formal complaint, and then take it to the ombudsman if they refuse it. That’s ridiculous. Perhaps a live chat with the network to get them to also confirm that WiFi usage of the phone wouldn’t show on the proof of usage document theyve provided - to pass on to support your claim?

It's a completely normal term and condition that the SIM card must be in the phone when it is lost or stolen 

The phone regularly communicates with the network even when you are using WiFi so the fact that you were at home doesn't stop the registration.  (If it didn't you wouldn't be able to receive calls be it over the air or VoWifi)

So the network information will be taken as accurate
