Ski Boots in hand luggage
Comments

We go skiing every year and use Easyjet or Ryanair to get to our destination. The check-in people at Easyjet always ask me to check the boots in "because security people won't let me through" if I carry them on-board. I therefore asked the security people that same question. As far as they are concerned, they don't mind "as long as I only carry 1 piece of hand luggage". I am now taking them on-board as hand luggage in the boot bag they came with when I bought them.
Are you still doing this? We are flying tomorrow from Luton and I don't want to try it and get clobbered with an additional charge for checking in my hand luggage!
Thanks0 -
I have worn mine on the plane in the past when I have not wanted to pay a surcharge, not the best things to wear but it was not a problem0

Has anyone recently used Ryanair for their ski-ing break, wondering if they check ski bags to see if normal luggage (clothes etc) is in the ski bag, in addition to skis, boots, poles. There is a 20kg limit, hoping to put clothes etc in ski bag and trying to find out if they look in the ski bag0

never had a problem taking them as hand luggage on easyjet or jet2.
Edit to add: other people I travel skiing with often take 1 boot in handluggage (which leaves room for some other things) and the other in their checked suitcase). If you can't get both your boots within the weight/size restrictions that might be a way to go0 -
Can't believe anyone is suggesting that you could wear ski boots to travel!!! These are the boots you ski in and they are almost impossible to walk far in. And I dont think security would let you through wearing them anyway.0
