Ikea kitchens, any good?

Hi, considering getting an IKEA kitchen, but with their appliances it's quite expensive. Would ovens/hobs from curry's fit? Same with the sink would it fit from b&q? All are standard 600 units. We have found everything else half price from what IKEA want.

Thanks for any help

IKEA kitchens are fine and good quality for the price. They don’t have a service gap so cupboards are deeper. If you have services running behind and don’t want to relocate them, you can get a wider counter top from ikea custom made to just about any width you want. Yes standard appliances and sinks fit.

FYI. I've had my white, high gloss IKEA kitchen for nearly 12 years, my induction hob, fridge freezer and dishwasher are still going strong, but my oven died two years ago. Everything else is still as good as new except some of the most used cupboard handles, which show some signs of wear but will be easily replaced.

We had an IKEA kitchen in our last house, fitted roughly 10 years ago.
The cabinets were great, but the wrapping on the door fronts was poor.
Looking at the door fronts in the store they also there suffer from bubbling in places and unexpected marks.
The drawers were well priced and phenomenal quality.
Solid wood worktops well priced and good quality.
We found the frost free integrated fridge freezer was excellent build quality and the gas hob was exceptional. The stainless looked mint even after several years and the cast iron pan supports were heavy and just felt professional.
If I done it again I would buy the cabinets, worktops and appliances from them, but get a carpenter to make me some door fronts from MDF, paint and lacquer them for a high glossly finish.

Love my IKEA kitchen which we fitted ourselves in 2016. Honestly still looks as good as new. Not a mark on the doors.
We were really lucky to find ex display IKEA appliances in our local charity shop and fitted them. Got them for a fraction of the retail price and each one still as good as new.
Got our house on the market and everyone who comes remarks on the kitchen which is now 7 years old.

The cabinets are great. The white goods - hobs, ovens, fridges and so on - are expensive for the features and you can find better value from places like Curry's and AO.

Avoid anything from them that involves plumbing as their stuff is not compatible with standard UK fittings - if you decide to change your sink you won't find one from the regular stores the same size, so the hole in the worktop will probably be wrong, and good luck finding a replacement sink waste.
