Collecting Avios through surveys

I've been completing surveys to collect Avios for at least 10 years and thought that it's probably worth mentioning on here as it doesn't seem to be discussed a great deal. I use e-rewards & aviosforthoughts which are both found (or at least they were) on the BA website.
With e-rewards you collect points per survey and once you get to 6,500 you can convert to 2,000 Avios (the maximum per 30 days). The points on offer per survey differ but 300 points would normally take 10-15 minutes and it's never a problem getting enough surveys to the 6,500 mark.
Aviosforthoughts are simpler as they give a number of Avios per survey. 20 Avios might take 10 minutes, for example. There's no maximum to the number of surveys you can do per month. I did one earlier today that took 15 minutes and gave me 280 Avios but that's an anomaly.
I always get to the 2,000 Avios mark with e-rewards but my mood dictates what I get with Aviosforthoughts. I hurt my leg last month and haven't been that mobile for a couple of weeks so did quite a lot and got about 1,700 for the month.
They are boring and repetitive and it's easy to see why they mightn't be for everyone but if you don't mind losing a few hours a month then it's a way of topping up your balance. To put it into perspective, I probably earn about 35-40,000 Avios a year this way and I spent 75,000 (& £450) on a return trip to Uruguay/Argentina in Business class for next November (with an Amex 2-for-1 voucher). The caveat is that you'd need to be flexible when booking Avios reward flights as availability isn't always great.
