The brace is one piece, which doesn’t connect to the wall in any way and it feels as though this is part of the problem. The brace just pushes against the top of the large side panel which of course has some give in it, in that corner.
I also had to ask the manufacturer what part of the design stops water escaping from the gap between the inline panel and the door this morning, as there is a 3-4mm gap between them and no inline seal. The instructions indicate that nothing is installed there. They advised that they'd forgotten about this bit and would post one out. From what I can ascertain this is quite a big manufacturer of bathroom products and they forget to include this....I just have no faith in their design for this enclosure.
I was imagining something more like that sort of brace - but that doesn't sound like what you're describing or photographing. I think last time I did a bathroom I had to order it as well as the door, it wasn't included in the package.0 -
I think you need to go back to the retailer and ask them if something is missing from the pack. I don't see how it can work with just the parts you are showing in the photo.0

It does rather sound like there is something missing, either something to connect the panel to the wall securely, or to connect the brace to the wall. The fact that the brace is slotted makes me thing there should have been a piece included that screwed to the wall and also fitted into the slot where it was then held in place by a couple of screws. but then the instructions would have mentioned this, in which case the brace is just bracing the end/return panel and adding more load onto the wall connection that the in-line panel has/doesn’t have.Probably best to call the manufacturer’s technical help line. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

Thanks again all. I have reached out to their technical support. Having had another look this morning there is another brace piece that attaches to the wall and then the other end of the brace slots into it. User error on my part but the instructions are so unclear on that bit and therefore I missed a couple of pictures that referred to it.
I believe my biggest issue now from speaking to the plumbers merchant are the imperfections of the tray and what this particular enclosure design requires in terms of it being absolutely level all of the way across, leading to the wonky-ness of the inline panel when seated on the edge. Again, putting a 600mm spirit level across the middle of the tray (the edge I mean, not the middle of it) shows that it is spot on. It just hasn't been manufactured level across the whole width and slopes downwards towards the middle, very slightly..
Will see what tech support says, and I will get a pro out for expert opinion, and see if it can be sorted. Last option I guess is a different enclosure more tolerant of an imperfect tray, which both the manufacturers and the plumbers merchant advise is the nature of shower trays.0
