E-voucher offered in, error

Hi,
After they sent the e-voucher in error with your receipt, did they send another email explaining that they had made a mistake and you wouldn't be getting the voucher?
Or did they only tell you they'd made a mistake when you asked where it was?
I appreciate, as others have pointed out, that you have lost nothing BUT for the sake of great customer relations, JL could actually honour their 'mistake'.
If I were you, I would send JL an official complaint in writing, either by email or post. Or both. You don't have anything to lose, except the cost of a stamp.
You should be able to click on 'customer services' on one of their emails and take it from there.
This really is a disappointing performance from JL, who have always given me a good service, I have to admit but if I were unhappy, I'd definitely let them know about it.
Especially as I read the other day that their Chair, Sharon White, receives a salary of just under £1m p.a. JL may moan about losses - but is it any wonder?
I think a promise is a promise and that JL should definitely cough up.
My own opinion, of course but a politely worded letter from you pointing out that this is no way to treat loyal customers wouldn't go amiss.
Good luck. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. After some backward and forward emails between JL and me, they said it was a mistake on their part and that I would not be getting the e-voucher. My latest email back to them I told them I was deflated and disappointed and asked for some token gesture because of their error.0

Mistakes aren't that simple, first random link on Google:screech_78 said:I know there was an offer of a £100 e gift card on selected electricals items. All qualifying items had the £100 e-gift offer on their product pages and you would have seen this before making your purchase.I assume there was no mention of this during the checkout process and it just appeared in the confirmation email? If so, unfortunately it’s an error and as it doesn’t form part of the contract, you wouldn’t be entitled to it. And they wouldn’t offer goodwill for this.

I don't see this meets any of the 4 and if it did the contract would be void rather than the term, JL would lose their profit (granted that might not be much), will have paid for the outward shipping and the customer would be an involuntary bailee meaning JL would need to bear the cost of return, a £100 voucher might not be much in comparison.
The contract is formed upon dispatch rather than delivery, the question is whether it was established it was a mistake before or after they sent the email saying the TV was on it's way.vincent64 said:Yeah delivery tomorrow. I'm scuppered. But I guess no loss as you state. A token gesture from JL would be nice even if it were only £10.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces1 -
No got it for £7490

No right to the voucher as I see it, and I suspect claiming you were deflated raised a giggle in their office.2

Luckily they sell something which helps with that.Aylesbury_Duck said:No right to the voucher as I see it, and I suspect claiming you were deflated raised a giggle in their office.1 -
Buy it quickly, it will be more expensive after inflation.user1977 said:

Had a result JL agreed as a good will gesture to give me a £50 voucher.2
