Hi
Apologies if I am being dim here. We moved into a new house last year and this is our first summer. I have the central heating switched off at timer and the thermostat in hall turned right down to 10oC. Hive system upstairs is set to frost setting. Hot water is programmed to come on for one hour each evening but for some reason the boiler still fires up frequently throughout the day for a few seconds, flow temp reaches 54oC then it cuts off again. This is obviously using gas when I don't think it needs to. Have I got something wrong?

That 40cdi
boiler could be a combination or regular conventional gas boiler.
First idea its a gas combination gas boiler and the hotwater preheat is randomly causing gas burn, preheat can be turned off by the user.
Second idea its a regular conventional gas boiler which has other reasons to do what its doing.
Everything can be sorted

I think it is a conventional gas boiler as we have a hot water tank?Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000
