- I have never sold anything but have bought a lot, mainly clothes. Some sellers don’t include many details and I’m convinced it puts a lot of buyers off including me. My pet hate is not including what the garment is made of, I rarely wear anything that is not cotton.Being new to eBay I’m intrigued how items of similar weight and size charge such different amounts of postage. I’m sure this has been covered before.

I do believe that some people misunderstand how selling remotely works. I am just rummaging through marketplace, ebay and also some specialist groups and am finding some very odd listings across all of the sites.
Jewellery items on a very heavily patterned dark background, possibly table cloth or duvet cover, in the dark sometimes with a flash. I can either see nothing but brown shadows or else a bright white light, listing states 'fab mixed jewellery'.
A listing for a 'Beano book' , that's it, no photo, no explanation and not even a price.
Or trainers , photo of a box in a cupboard with the lid partly off but mostly covered in tissue paper , listing just says 'expensive trainers- cost me £250 will take £100'
Absolute madness, no wonder there are so many people on groups saying they can't sell anything online!
EDIT just found on facebook, photo of a necklace from an expensive designer site with comments 'like this, but in silver and bits are green not red, and I think its shorter'.

I despair at the lack of information on some listings.
Some only post one photo which is really not enough for me to decide an item is worth buying.
Listings for hand/shoulder bags without any dimensions.
Ditto for jewellery.
I find Vinted listings are usually lacking in detail and photos compared to eBay.

It was an amusing way to spend a couple of hours, I started off just browsing looking at what sells and what doesn't so I know what stock to buy. I ended up down a real rabbit hole of weird listings!
I found several on FB and marketplace selling things in like new condition, sofas apparently slept on by dogs and need a bit of a clean but looks like new- but seller has added no photos. 'Mystery' black sacks of clothes in excellent condition with the warning that you cannot look in bags before you buy them- you must pay and choose a bag to take - £30 a bag!
Vinted listings can be weird, you can't see much at all when you browse so if you go into a lisitng say for a necklace that says 'necklace'. Vinted require you to choose a brand, colour and condition so you can see that- but they are rarely helpful. I am always amazed though to see someone selling 'dress' or 'boots' but with 700+ positive ratings...I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Quite common on market place to have clothes and shoes with no sizes. And some seriously minging items that are only fit for the bin.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
My other favourite is the obviously well worn/broken/completely rusted item that people think is worth 50% of the new price. I have saved section on Facebook called "having a laugh" and sometimes go back to see if items actually sold. It is entertaining though3

My pet hate are sellers who describe a used item as "used". No further description, nothing.

Absolute madness. There are a few facebook groups dedicated to posting this kind of thing, they are worth checking out just to see how deluded some sellers are.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. My favourite was a top being sold on eBay “with embezzlement round the neck”.With smartphones these days the cameras are good so I think it’s mostly the owners who don’t know about using a flash, daylight, etc. out of focus dark photos just make me ignore the posting.
definitely bags with no sizes and nothing in the photo to compare it to, and skirts with no length listed.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?1
