Hello,

Had a parking fine from UKPC for £50 to pay within 14 days, they say on their letter the original cost is £100. They say I overstayed my car park visit, which admittedly I may have done, I wasn't even aware of parking restrictions but that is my fault.

Anyway, the letter stated that I have 14 days to pay from the date of the letter, yet the letter was received 5 days after the date of the letter which is a joke.

I've read on the Internet numerous stories of people saying don't pay fines, whilst others have said just pay it as it saves loads of hassle. I don't mind paying a fine it if I'm at fault, what I begrudge paying is the extortionate charge of the fine.

What would you do ?

Thanks all

You haven't been fined, you don't have a fine.
And what you do have shouldn't be ignored, but at the same time it shouldn't be paid, but fought.
See the newbies thread, and don't try and guess as to who the driver could have been
No use of I did, she did, he, wife, uncle, sister, aunt, friend,  etc .
The driver parked, or did, or even better the vehicle did this, such as the vehicle entered a cat park.

You have received a speculative invoice UKPC are a private company specialising in making up rules to trap people into giving them cash not an authority, they have not issued a "fine".
If you "wasn't even aware of parking restrictions" why is that automatically your fault, it sounds like the signage was not prominent maybe?
Follow Grizebeck's advice it's all in the newbies thread, why would you pay a scammer to fund their next Tesla, Wife's Porsche and villa in The Algarve because people on the internet (probably from PPC's them selves) say it saves hassle?
