We’ve been on the South East Waters Watersure Tariff for a number of years now but I’m still very confused as I cannot work out where they are getting their billing figures from?

As I understand it, you pay no more than the average bill for your area.  Less if you use less but never more.

We’ve just had our monthly amount increased from £37pcm to £45pcm and they’re suggesting we pay £49pcm!  There are no figures in the literature that would equate to this amount per month.  They bill us and deduct certain amounts for the WS Tariff but it still looks like we’re paying more than we should so either I’m missing something or just need it clarifying if anyone knows before I go to them.  I asked them in the past but they’re not that helpful in explaining things in plain English.

Their literature states the following for 23/24:

Typical Bill for Sussex £271.13

Watersure Tariff (charges based on average household bill) East [Sussex] £260.70

There is no distinction in their literature about supply/waste/standing charges.  My bill shows the split between supply and waste with both showing deductions for WS.

Are you in debt? If so, they will ask for more to cover that. The 'cap' is for ongoing use only.
