That's just an automated computer systems, and inexperienced work coach, thing in UC.
It's a bit of pot luck on if you get an inexperienced WC, they do seem to be getting better.
Whilst the fit notes aren't actually needed in migration cases the UC computer hasn't been programmed to recognise Natural or Voluntary migrations from ESA. Migrations need some intervention from a work coach.
The computer itself has only been programmed for newly arising Limited Capability, so all the computer 'knows' is that until LCW/LCWRA is confirmed by a work capability assessment then a fit note is required and so the computer automatically spits out a request for a fit note on your journal.
Experienced work coaches know that fit notes aren't required in migrations from ESA, and how to work around that on the computer.
Inexperienced coaches don't know (or can't be bothered to do other than as the computer asks) and so insist on the fit notes.
If/when you are asked for fit notes when migrating from ESA to UC then you can challenge that you already have LCW/LCWRA so don't need to provide them. Just put a note to that effect on your journal.
(But if you get a particularly stroppy WC then it's sometimes easier just to provide a fit note if you can).
TBH it should all be accademic because the confirmation from ESA should arrrive before the end of your first UC month anyway.
PS. I voluntary migrated myself from ESA WRAG to UC LCW just over a year ago and the UC computer did automatically spit out a request for a fit note on my journal.
I simply put a note back on the journal saying that being a migration from ESA a fit note wasn't required.
Being an old claim I did get paid ESA WRAG, and did get paid UC LCW Element with my first UC payment after migrating.

So they are not delaying then, 6 days from the call, and only one since note on the journal, to getting the UC50.
Please keep the updates coming with how  the timings are currently.
Next one should be how long after sending back the UC50 you get an appointment for a (probably telephone) assessment.

Yes, 3 working days from phone call.
At least they are  sending out the form 1st class.
Last ESA form was 3rd class that took 2 weeks to arrive, so cutting down time I had to return the form (I did get an extension).

I will keep the thread updated.

Out of interest, at the point you claimed UC did you submit a fit note to get the claim moving until UC were able to put LCWRA in payment? In the past some people moving from ESA to UC have had to submit a fit note at the start of the UC claim until the SG (or WRAG) status in ESA was transferred over to UC.
As soon as I made the UC claim I put an entry on my journal stating that "I am transferring from ESA Support Group to UC LCWRA so any medical evidence isn't needed.
No request for any fit note was made to me.

Learnt something new, that you can't have a extension on a UC50.
There is an section about if you returned the form late, and seems like it would go to a DM to decide if the reason is justified.
For me that's a bit risky, so been getting on filling it out. Hopefully the bit of paperwork from hospital will come this week.

UC50 can be downloaded from here.

    https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/985609/uc50-interactive.pdf

So you can fill it on your computer, print & send it back once you get the envelope.

I should have said I'm  using the pdf form.
Have to say  so much easier than writing, and easier for anyone reading as they don't have to decipher my scrawl.

Picked up my printed heath records from GP  asked  for the 14 months
I ended up with about 14 years of info the only bit was missing was  the last 6 months,  two further trips later I have everything.

So going try and finish form tonight, will add in the letters from consultants and other heath care persons, and wait for the DWP to find me completely healthy ready to run a marathon.

    All done a returned
A quick count up is 42 points,  but only one indicator gets me in LCWRA, so concentrated on that one.

  • I was expecting a wait for my assessment, but it's at the end of August, so will be 2 months from when I returned the form.
