Direct line confusion

I received an email from Direct line to say my house insurance will be due for renewal soon and provided a link to log in to may account. It did not recognise my details so I spoke to an agent who told me he would post out my policy. I asked him why my I could not access my account and he asked for my address which I provided. He then told me my details were incorrect (the policy number was valid). I asked him where they were going to send my renewal policy if the address was incorrect. He told me he could not give out any details? Is it me or am I missing something?

    Have you gone back and look at the policy docs from when you renewed last year to check they were right?

    We only took the policy out last year when we moved into the property - I have contacted them during the year to call them out for a flood which was covered under our policy - and they attended this address.
