@Emmia As you say, we all have choices about how we spend our money, but with price rises it may be necessary to reconsider some spending habits and daily treats we feel we feel entitled to have.

One member of the household spending over £200 a month on their daily fix of shop coffee and lunch deals can mess up the tight family budget.
I don’t drink coffee but I drink gallons of tea. For the last few years it’s been decaf.  I’ve tried every brand on the market and what came as no surprise to me the more expensive stuff tasted better.

We found a cute multi award winning tea shop recently and the decaf tea was nothing short of sublime.   They get a special blend from the manufacturers and it’s “proper tea” with big fat leaves and a tea strainer. They sell it in the tea shop so I treated myself.  A fairly large bag cost the same amounts as 2 decent coffees

My OH says I could write a book (exaggeration of course but I could write a long article) about decaf tea.
  • Husband was diagnosed with chronic bronchitis in March. It's mild (his hayfever is worse) but he's been told to cut out caffeine. Currently we are buying Tetleys decaf teabags 120 bags (50% extra free) from Iceland for 2.50 but any other suggestions welcome !

We use Lidl decaff t around £1.2 for 80 not everyone's taste but we find them ok.

P.S.   Look for the blue box if I want to try some.😃
  • Lidl/Aldi decaff tea here too. You have to let them steep a bit longer for a good strong cuppa tea but they're fine.
I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.

I don't understand this at all. Caffeine and its derivatives improve airflow.

So much to read, so little time.

I use Costa most of the time. It's not the best coffee but fairly consistent across many different sites I visit. Some of the independent shops are truly awful. In terms of saving being part of their loyalty club gives one free coffee every ten ( not as good since  Pepsi brought them out) and I get an email from them every so often with a gift card offer giving a 25% discount,  normally get this if I haven't spent with them recently. Otherwise I use JamDoughnut to get 8% cashback.
Making your own coffee and food from home is probably the cheaper option but that doesn't work for me as my work hours vary a lot from day to day, so don't need a break on some days but I don't know that until I get on site.

The list is long and includes all sparkling drinks, including water. A lot of it doesn't make sense to me. If I find it from other sources too e.g. American Lung Association then okay we'll deal with it.
