and honestly, I think they're much nicer than what you buy from Costa.
IMHO a pretty low bar to set :o

Tesco and Co-Op meal deal can be £3.40/3.50 if you have Clubcard or membership.
Also at Tesco I think you can get the Costa express machine coffee in the meal deal so that can be a saving.
If you need another drink fill an insulated water bottle from fridge-cold water at home, or buy multipacks of cans to bring out.

On the first read it sounds pricey - but if you are going to buy a Costa anyway, it does make sense to get a sandwich in the same price.

A flask of good coffee, another with a chilled drink, and a cool bag with a home made lunch. Leftovers from dinner perhaps? Good for your pocket and your health.

Who buys a meal deal and doesn’t eat it all because they have paid for it? Far too much food.

i actually just prefer a coffee and a decent sandwich rather than the meal deals. i take water out from the free filtered tap at work. trouble is that alone can cost £6-7!

If you're paying £7 for a 'decent sandwich'... that's 5/7 of our food budget of £50 for a week for 2 people.  I now know why I'm far better off now I've retired!

Get a Tesco meal deal and it would only be £3.40

If you're intent on spending so much after reading all the comments on this thread, there really is little hope of you ever saving! Things are only going one way, if you have a mortgage that daily sandwich and coffee is going to cost you even dearer.
