O2 Mobile Reviews
Hi
My husband needs to find a new provider as he is currently on Plusnet. We live in a rural area and dont have an option of Three. As we have a number of trips to Ireland during the year free data roaming is a must. I was considering switching to O2 but have just looked at their reviews on Trustpilot and the reviews are absolutely awful. Has anyone recently switched to O2? What was your experience?
Lebara reviews seem to be good but their pricing almost seem too good to be true.
Many thanks

I would recommend Lebara to be honest. Their pricing isnt too good to be true IMO.
o2 is expensive and they like their annual price increases.FTB - April 20201 -
Thanks SaverRate, I've been doing a bit more investigation on Lebara but need to do a bit more as I've just read on a post that their data roaming is just data and not calls but need to verify that.
Thanks to another post on here I found a link through Virgin to an O2 plan (contract with O2) for £6 a month. He would be happy to pay that monthly if it provided everything he needs, just worried if they are having problems at the minute looking at Trustpilot.0 -
Look at Uswitch for some decent deals including O2. The link takes you straight through to the O2 website with the cheap deal preselected.
I'm on O2 but find data coverage patchy even in London. On the plus side my phone works with WiFi calling without any issues and I've used data roaming in Tenerife and the Spanish mainland this year and got excellent performance. I'm on the £6 per month for 5gb deal.
I tested out Lebara which was also pretty good but found data roaming in Tenerife to be poor for some reason. I've managed to get wifi calling working with them but I know that lots of users have problems with getting it to work on Lebara for no reason. I tried them for a few months for comparison purposes.but cancelled the contract
You can of course just use Lebara on a monthly contract and switch again at a later date.

I have been with O2 for many years (indeed just recontracted this week) as on the rare occasion that I have need to contact CS they have always been OK & better than my experiences with 3 & Vodafone. & I do place some value on the perks of O2 Priority etc.1 -
I found the service provided by o2 to be fine, generally. However their customer service is the 2nd worst (KLM at No 1 pop pickers) of any company I have ever dealt with.I would say as long as you have no problems they will be fine.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid1

I'm currently with Lebara who, after a sluggish port of the number, have been okay. No visual voicemail so I may move to Lyca.
You might get this cheaper but for example on the Lyca site 20GB is £5 a month on a 30 day rolling contract so you can cancel easily enough. EU voice & data included.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid1 -
If the 02 network is good where you are, then look @ Giff Gaff.
Mrs pays £6 a month.

If WiFi calling is important (the lack of it a deal breaker for me) then note that it is not available on GiffgaffThings that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid1

Of course, if one doesn't need the data/wifi calling or perks save the money.1
