Hi, I was wondering if I could get some more advice please. I submitted my witness statement, and today I received below email from Gladstones. I'm guessing it's positive but is there anything else that I need to do? Many thanks in advance!
'The Claimant, without intending any discourtesy, hereby gives notice that it will not not be attending the final hearing.
This notice is given pursuant to CPR 27.9.
The Court has been notified of the Claimant's non-attendance and have been asked to deal with the Claim in the Claimant's absence.'

This is quite normal. They will probably instead send a local "hired gun." If you are lucky they won't have been handed the case until the day before and not had time to learn the detail of the case.I married my cousin. But don't expect that there will be no-one to argue against you.
It is quite likely that they will send an advocate to represent them.3 -

I just wanted to update you on my case. I just left the court and WON!!!
NPM had 4 other cases this morning, one which went just before me went well too judging by their faces.
Gladstones didn't send anyone and judge was really lovely. She asked me if I wanted to add anything else to my witness statement, and I explained essentially that I didn't see the signs and we looked at some evidence and Google maps pictures. Judge I believe agreed signage was insufficient.
I didn't want to push it but when Judge said I won remembering some of your advice from other cases I asked for the costs. Judge said they normally don't award it on small claims cases but I asked for parking and a half-day holiday. I got £49 which is symbolic but I'm really happy about it.
Thank you so much for your support for all those months, i really couldn't do it without you!! Especially @KeithP @Le_Kirk @fruitcake @Coupon-mad @Johnersh @Boat_to_Bolivia

Hi, one more question if I may.
A month ago, I received a letter from Gladstones with the cheque for the judgement amount but cheque and letter were damaged (a bottom of the cheque ripped) so was unable to cash it in. I emailed them then with the picture and provided bank details /requested re-issue of the cheque. However I had no reply for a month now.
Not sure if anyone had the same issue. Is this really bad luck not sure.
I emailed them again but is there anything else I should do? The judgement I believe had something like 14 days to pay so it's overdue. And also wanted to share it in case anyone had similar experience with Gladstones.
