Easyjet flightclub and cabin bag extra charges on moving flight date

Today I found out another appalling way Easyjet has "invented" to charge flightclub clients when they call to change a flight date. When the client does this flight change online, the system charges any flight fee differences plus a flight change fee. This is ok and inline with all published rules.
However, one of the main benefit of flight club membership is that you need to call the flighclub customer service number and you can change any flight dates WITHOUT paying the flight change fee but only the flight fee (if any different to the flight fee you have paid already).
Well, just today I tried to do a change online, the system quoted no flight fee difference and on confirming the changes I was asked to pay a grand total of 28 euros (which is the flight change fee - lower tier). Up until this point, all is in order, my new flight was still inclusive of my paid large cabin bag.
Since I am a flight club member, I called the CS number so that I did not end up pay the 28 euros flight change fee. However, the flightclub CS agent told me the price I have to pay was 38 euros !!!!!. They said that the cabin bag price is different now and I have to pay more to take my already paid large cabin bag with me.!!!
I asked to talk to her manager, she did not allow me to do that, instead she "talked" to her manager herself (this is what she told me) and she was adamant she would have to charge me 38 euros for the cabin bag to remain on my flight !!!!!
I tried to explain that when I do this online the system does not ask for any extra cabin bag fees but it was like talking to a "wall".
I offered to send screenshots on whatsup but she would not agree. In the end I offered to make it online myself so she could see that there was only the flight change fee applicable on the proviso that she would refund the flight change fee afterwards and she agreed to do so (at least promised to do so, need to wait 7 days for the refund to appear).
Is this not despicable of easyjet? Flight club "membership" has become a joke and easyjet are on their way of surpassing Ryanair in CS hostility and invention of "charges" as they go along. The recent hike of cabin bag charges alongside the checked-in luggage charges is disgraceful.  A return suitcase 23Kgr MAN to SKG or ATH costs 140 pounds return, just for 1 suitcase.
I think it is high time the cabin bag and checked bags prices were regulated, just like the mobile phone roaming charges had to be. Airlines are taking the micky out of these with ridiculous charges appearing from nowhere.
