Thought I'd update the latest. After filing my defence, the judge asked DCBL to respond to the defence and a few days before their deadline, they emailed me a 50% off offer which I rejected and told them not to contact me by email. A few days after that I received a Notice of discontinuance which was a relief!

Yay! Sadly you won't get costs back, unless the Judge's written order said that the Claimant would be liable for the D's costs if they failed to comply with the order.
