The op's credit 'rating' seems not relevant to their problem that there is not enough money coming in to cover everything.0

Your only option is to get a second job at weekends/evenings/nights...and ring Step Change for debt management advice. There is no help for working people sadly.
There is no such thing as a credit blacklist.
Basically if you made a list of anyone with a credit default in the last 6? years, those on the list would be "blacklisted".
There is not a virtual blacklist either. Each lender assesses applicants based on its own criteria and it is not an automatic rejection for every applicant with every lender because there is a default on a credit file.
As soon as my 1st default registered credit was cut off everywhere - I made countless attempts to get it from all the most sub-prime of lenders. I don't believe it was coincidence - the dates aligned exactly.
Not that the universal withdrawal of credit was a bad thing in the end.Leap Day 2024 - the day of freedom. The day my pernicious debts finally died.

I challenge anyone with a default to obtain credit and come back here and tell us about it. It just doesn’t happen, it’s bs that each lender has their own criteria. The criteria are the same. You can’t get further credit if you are blacklisted. When I posted my SOA, some helpful bright spark told me to sell my car and cycle 12 miles each way to work! After a 10 hour day!! I don’t blame the OP for. Not replying0

I do not think further borrowing is the solution here so not getting a loan will be a blessing in disguise. If you have a reasonably well paid job I also do not believe you would be better on benefits. They offer subsistence level only and if you are still paying for childrens clubs that is not subsistence level. Prioritise your outgoings so if you have other unsecured debt you are repaying each month then defaulting on that will give you more available income to pay for food etc. Essentials are mortgage or rent, essential utilities, food and travel to work costs. Make sure you are not eligible for benefits for childcare costs etc.

Perhaps the OP is considering these replies before responding or is not yet ready to commit to changes that may be required.
Reading the original post it does come across as a little bit of a rant complaining about the perceived lack of support for 'working people' which is simply not factually correct.
PM22 I am not aware of your financial situation but I feel it is unfair to criticise someone for making suggestions about your personal transport options. They may well have been well intended and a response to your need to cut your debt burden.
If you come to an open forum such as this asking for support and ideas you should expect to receive a variety of responses not all of which may be to your taste.

Good information from Enthusasticsaver and fatbelly as usual. OP please don't be deterred from posting the SOA as suggested - you might indeed get questions about whether X, Y or Z is possible in your circumstances, but it's those very questions that build up a picture of what might work for your circumstance and what might not. It's easy for someone to pick up on one point they were unhappy with on the help they got when their SOA was posted, but perhaps a little disingenuous to suggest that was the ONLY feedback they got - I seem to recall quite a lot of help was given.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

You: Can I have a credit card please?
Provider (Checks 'blacklist', finds your entry in it): NO
But instead:
You: Can I have a credit card please?
Provider: We've checked your credit report(s) and unfortunately you do not fit our risk profile, sorry.5 -
I disagree that quite a lot of help was given. The bills were the bills, no cutbacks to be made….I only remember the cycling comment, that was a huge kick in the teeth and hurt like hell….who needs friends when I’ve got you lot0

There is no black list per we, but as soon as you get a default you are black listed by all of them0
