I followed MSE advice & tried texting PAC to 65075. I got a popup window saying I would be charged for the text.
Is this usual?
Don't compare the inside of your life, with the outside of someone else's life.

I'd suspect so, seeing that the text should be free.

From the Ofcom page linked above:

"We’ve made it quicker and easier to leave your current mobile provider. Ofcom rules mean you can switch mobile provider by sending a simple, free text message to your current provider."

I got my PAC today but didn't get a popup so it should be free.

There are a (very small) set of short codes that Plusnet allow.

Some makes of phone automatically display a warning that you MIGHT be charged for a text to a shortcode. They don’t actually check if you will or won’t.

I have tried twice to get a PAC from Plusnet, both times without success. I got the warning about being charged, as mentioned above. Then I got ''Error Code 0 ''.

I've just phoned Plusnet on 0800 432 0200 and was connected to their Liverpool call centre. A very helpful gentlemen took me through the usual security checks and then gave me a PAC code. All sorted now.
