Euro Cark parks & Debt Recovery Plus

Hello everyone,

A bit late in the day but just seeing if I can help someone out at the last minute.

Car was SORN and owner gave it to a friend who had it to repair it for sale.

Friend used car without prior knowledge and reg keeper got a PCN back in Feb time.

Gave PCN to driver who said they pay but didnt and now we are due with Debt recover Plus to pay £170.

Appreciate it may be too late to help but thought I'd ask

Many thanks in advance.

If you have read the NEWBIE sticky (fourth post) you will see that the unscrupulous debt collectors have no power (excpt to frighten and intimidate) so can be safely ignored.  where the car owner (registered keeper) went wrong was in giving the PCN to the "friend" instead of using the tear-off slip and giving the driver's name and address to the PPC.

    Many thanks for your reply.

They should have given drivers info as you suggested but assume it's beyond that now or Is it worth providing ECP with the driver details now?

Has anyone ever had a court letter from DRP or do they just keep "hassling" you then eventually go away?

    Many thanks.

As already explained, DRP are powerless.

Plan A is always a complaint to the landowner and your MP.

In your case, Plan B is to transfer liability to the driver by passing the driver's details in writing to the PPC.

Thanks so much for your reply.

I will as advised ignore DRP.

If I write to the PPC giving them driver details if he ignores will they then come back to me anyway?

Or am I best to leave it and just ignore everything?

    Many thanks.

I would just give ECP the name of the driver

DRP cannot take any parking case to court, they are just circus clowns  who pop out of the sewers to scam

    Thank you.

So I write a letter to ECP only stating me as reg keeper noting PCN and reg number and naming driver and address.

    And send in normal post.

    Many thanks

So is it worth telling them the driver info if they will re-chase reg keeper anyway???

Yes, because you will have transferred liability.  Can't lose if taken to court (won't happen).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
