Debt and severe mental health - write off

I posted a while ago asking if debt could be written off because of severe mental health, I was ready to take my own life due to debt.
I had help from debt advisor who took my case and my psychiatrist sent in the form and letters.
I had huge debts with 8 companies.
5 have agreed to write off my debt and I have 3 to hear from.
My mental health is still unstable but this is taking off the pressure.
Thank you for help and support I got here and for not judging me.

Glad to hear that has happened. Many companies are genuinely helpful when there are severe issues. Hopefully the others will but even if they don't there will be a way out. Dont be afraid to post again if you need to.Aiming to make £7,500 online in 20221

Note that the Debt and Mental Health Evidence Form (DMHEF) is available as a download, with guidance, here

This may well become even more effective after 31 July when a new regime comes in from the Financial Conduct Authority requiring Debt Collectors and Debt Buyers to take more note of what clients tell them about their circumstances3 -

Well done on getting this sorted for yourself. It goes to the point that companies want their money but when they see that they may never get it it's good business for them to walk away.

This is brilliant. You may not feel in a good place but you've done really well to sort this out.

Terrified......
Your shame and guilt are real but in the great scheme of things, getting those debts written off is the right thing to do.
If it means that your mental health improves a little, it's cost effective.
If it means the creditors have more time to engage with people who have the means to pay their debt, or even better to manage the applications they are getting more effectively and to engage promptly with those who are beginning to struggle, it's cost effective.
One day you may be able to pay forward by helping someone else manage their debt and their shame and guilt. You'll throw the same life belt that you've been able to grab.
That'll worth be worth much more. The person who has not made a mistake, has made nothing7 -
