    Given it's literally taken 2.5-3 weeks to receive some post in the past (from date on internal letter anyway - for important things like hospital appts and insurance renewals etc ) - 2 weeks does seem a little tight - for a system that operates - at least one way - by post.

    How do other firms on 3m or 6m paper billing cycles cope - do they give more time ?

    But other payment methods do exist with Octopus and others - and may even cost less.


    I pay bycheque and will not get drawn into direct debit schemes.
    You can pay one off payments online without needing to set up a direct debit. Or do you not do online banking either?
    You probably need a plan B for when they do stop accepting cheques.

    It's difficult to reconcile your dissatisfaction of paying standing charges with your choice of payment that results in the highest energy charges possible.

    You are either concerned about your finances or you are not, I can't work out which one though?

    Cheque guarantee cards were scrapped 12 years ago, which is why it's virtually impossible to use them in shops anymore.

    I'm sorry, I'm finding your post a little difficult to understand.  What exactly are Octopus doing that's discourteous?
    executing actions for payment..then after I check withmy bank they av cashed it, they still push forpayment.
    You choose to pay by the slowest, most inefficient payment method.  That's purely your choice.  I don't think you can justifiably moan about the process taking the time it takes.
