Second time I have been on today about Energy companies.
This time is how they run ur account, the overthe top detail like Octopus create, the absolute laxity in how we feel.
Myself I pay by cheque, 14 days ur given to pay and to show theyve received ur payment, day after 14, you have the Dunning dept/collection sending you texts, ringing you up.
I cannot wait for the new rates so I can move, arethey guilty of what I state, yes they have already credited my account with £30...... they call gudwill.
It takesthem 12 days to show on my account I have paid!!!
It needs Cleaning up this Energy business.
I can sort my own problems outbut the System of payment and Daily charges must change.

Why not set up a variable direct debit payment and avoid all the worry? The days of cheques must surely be numbered anyway.3

I can sort my own problems outbut the System of payment and Daily charges must change.Given it's literally taken 2.5-3 weeks to receive some post in the past (from date on internal letter anyway - for important things like hospital appts and insurance renewals etc ) - 2 weeks does seem a little tight - for a system that operates - at least one way - by post. How do other firms on 3m or 6m paper billing cycles cope - do they give more time ?But other payment methods do exist with Octopus and others - and may even cost less.1 -
I’m sorry, I don’t really understand what you’re saying. Are you saying you should get longer to pay than 14 days & if you haven’t paid within the allotted time you get reminders that you’re not happy about?0

I'm sorry, I'm finding your post a little difficult to understand. What exactly are Octopus doing that's discourteous?1

Not really, I recently needed to send a cheque to HMRC and had to find the cheque book issued when I opened the account 7 years ago. I'd only used one prior cheque.
Cheques are often not accepted by businesses anymore.1
