Zopa Rate Increase!

Zopa all my life. Yes, I'm going to have a few pennies (because we are not even talking about pounds, but pennies on an average amount of 1 or 2K in a saver easy access account), but I don't want even think of giving my money to someone who has an app where I must find a button and switch it off in order to avoid the bank itself snooping around in my linked current account charging me an exorbitant fee to make me save money. No thank you. Zopa all my life. Plain, safe, simple, honest with no hidden buttons. I happily keep my 3.56% rate, knowing I will give up 2 pounds and 6 pennies a YEAR.3

I kind of agree with you to an extent for 1-2K, although I think Zopa rate is 3.52% for easy access. I am keeping on 95 day pots with Zopa at 3.76% now to fund regular saver, as there really isn't much to be gained really for say 3.82% at Chip on £2500. I've already set it up for the year, got calendar reminders to give notice on pots until end of year. Will see how it goes for next year as to whether to carry on.francoghezzi said:Zopa all my life. Are you talking about Chip when you say you have to switch off button, snooping and charging? I just set up account earlier today. Auto charge is set to off, first thing I checked on. As for snooping, I used a current account that is not my main account, all they could see was I had £5 in there.

I can't imagine someone from Chip or any other team have nothing better to do than observe my banks transactions and if they do they are welcome to the show. I use my main bank account for Chip transactions. 0 -
I'm not likeing Chip so far, so this might be enough for me to keep Zopa using their 95 day pots.0

I installed Chip and felt the same, too much going on in the app. I then installed Tandem and really like it. OK the rate is slightly lower than Chip but by not much. I kept a £1 in my Zopa if I ever wanted to go back.Qyburn said:I'm not likeing Chip so far, so this might be enough for me to keep Zopa using their 95 day pots.

Thanks for mentioning the autosave, I've just looked and it's already switched off. Although it does say "in 26 days, a small fee of £0.45 will apply to every autosave. Upgrade to ChipX to enjoy unlimited autosaves."Kaizen917 said:
Agreed, looks very lean and easy to add/withdraw money. Chip has been alright for me though, people just need to be careful to disable the auto-save.bertsilver said:Just emptied Zopa to Chip which has annoyed me because the Zopa app is one of the best.
So my autosave is switched off, will I still pay 45p, is that a one off payment or maybe a recurring payment, why the mention of upgrading to ChipX, are there a limited number of autosaves with the default version?0 -
I might be wrong, but I think you get 28 days autosave for free after signing up, then it's £0.45 per autosave. You don't get charged £0.45 per manual (you initiate it) open banking transfer in. Chip offer a lot more services than just a savings account, ChipX is their monthly paid service, no need to pay if you just want the savings account. Not sure about limited number of autosaves, I doubt it if they charge £0.45 for each one! Thanks for mentioning the autosave, I've just looked and it's already switched off. I can’t see any reason at all for a 90 Day Pot with Zopa when there are now quite a few Easy Access accounts paying more than this elsewhere. Why would you lock money away bearing this in mind? If you do want 90 Days Notice, Investec are paying 4.25% AER on theirs.Qyburn said:I'm not likeing Chip so far, so this might be enough for me to keep Zopa using their 95 day pots.0 -
Scrap that, don't like the app so gone for Tandembertsilver said:Just emptied Zopa to Chip which has annoyed me because the Zopa app is one of the best.0 -
I am with RCI Bank and they offer 3.54% on their instant access account. However app only.0
