Morrisons More Card (Relaunch?)
Comments
-
I was in Morrisons yesterday getting ant bait stations and the till lady asked me if I had a More card. No I don't, no. The guy behind me said he hasn't got one either. Why? asked the woman. The guy said it's too hard now, it's not worth it. But it's only just been relaunched! said till woman. Doesn't matter how new it is, it's still wrong, he said. And the 2 women behind him laughed and agreed. As I suspected, somebody has been adding soil to my garden. The plot thickens...1

I gave up shopping in person for Covid, but I used my More card in store today, e-mail offer, missing you
, get £4 off if spending over £20
Trying to keep mental running total as I went round, at the checkout it was just over £19, shock horror, quick investment of a packet of chewing gum from the overpriced kiddy catchers at the check-out upped it to just over the required £20, which by perverse accounting meant my shopping was £16.05 instead of £20.05
I doubt that was what they had in mind, but it suited me for real money but some obscure points if I buy particular items, no thanksEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2 -
I suppose its similar to what Asda do, but at least with Asda you can cash out on £1 rather than waiting for a fiver.
I'm still not going to bother with it as I rarely shop at morrisons anyway & also still annoyed that they stole & won't reimburse previously accrued points0 -
I only shop in Morrisons because it's the closest supermarket to home and I don't have to struggle in traffic. I refuse to swipe my card unless I want to use an offer - not very often! The new points thing is ok I guess, but look how healthy the offers are!! The points off fuel won't tempt me at all, spending £1500 to get £5 off (depending on price) won't go far to balance the extra 10p or more per liter I'd have to pay for diesel there...1

I used to shop at Morrisons a lot. They have a store across the road from my work so I used to pop in regularly after work (I tended to shop every couple of days rather than do a 'big shop'). Then the pandemic came, along with working from home, and my habits changes.
Even though I've been back in the office for over a year, I've not gone back to shopping at Morrisons. Now I use Sainsburys which is a five minute walk away. Morrisons has really gone downhill since they were taken over - prices are extortionate, there are very few useful special offers (and even then the prices aren't that special). They've replaced most of their staff with self-service checkouts and expect one person to run the self service checkouts, assist the normal checkout operators, serve on the customer service desk and sell tobacco/lottery. Meaning very long waits if you need help.
They have poor stock availability and they don't collect the trollies so you have to go and find your own in the car park. The one time I wanted to use the cafe for lunch there was an hour's wait for a bacon sandwich due to a staff shortage... The only team that seems to be properly staffed is the army of teenagers who push trollies around fulfilling Amazon orders!
The only thing they have going for them is that they've retained their fresh counters, unlike most of the other supermarkets. But even then the counters are often unstaffed, so if you want to buy something you have to go hunting for someone to reluctantly wash their hands and serve you.
Ken Morrison may have had his faults, but he'd turn in his grave if he could see what has happened to his once proud Yorkshire business.
Even if this loyalty card offered £5 back for every £10 spent, I still wouldn't shop there!

I had 4800 points when they scrapped this , so was that close to getting a fiver , but they was all taken away when they stopped the scheme , so i haven't shopped in there since , i dont suppose they will give those back will they ?1
