So it's gone back to what it was before....Life in the slow lane0

Last time they did this, it seemed to take ages (like, years) to save a fiver. This time they've added a load of extra points offers to my app. But I won't be shopping there, because the Morrisons inflation rate seems to be higher than other shops.
I lost about £3 of points when the old scheme ended... would have been nice to get them back.3 -
Morrisons closed my account because I bought cigarettes each week which they deemed suspicious and will only reopen it if I send them a copy of my passport so no more Morrisons for me.I never really got many rewards with the More card, maybe the odd few pence.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Really? Were you just buying cigarettes and nothing else? In the pandemic I had them delivered each week with my online shop. Not a problem now as I don't shop online and more importantly I quit smoking.0

I've just read the rules. I think younonly get points on selected products and fuel, not on the total value of the shopping. Unless I am mistaken, this is different to last time where you would get points on the whole shop plus some bonus points on certain items (like Nectar/Clubcard)2

I'm glad they seem to have listened to customer feedback and reinstated the old system. The replacement was worthless, usually it was a few pennies off stuff I never bought anyway. Not that I usually shop there as the shelves are usually nigh-on empty and the prices are extortionate.Shame they haven't given back the almost-a-fiver's-worth of points I had on my card when they closed it thoughBut in my area they've got about the cheapest petrol around, so it's nice to get points for that and use it to treat myself to a couple of bottles of beer or some choccy once in a while1

I can only join in the lack of enthusiasm chorus. I use Morrisons for deliveries once every few weeks but their prices aren't good and their stock control is abysmal, I'm unlikely to keep using them once the delivery pass I took out during the 'pandemic' and rather foolishly renewed last summer runs out. Reintroducing their card scheme isn't going to redeem them, I'm afraid. They've fallen too far behind the competition and don't seem able to catch up.1

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the discussion.
We've published an MSE News story about this, which you can read here: Morrisons Fivers are back as supermarket relaunches 'More' loyalty scheme
Thanks,

Having just read the MSE article I'm more convinced than ever that Morrisons just doesn't 'get it'. How many hoops do they think their customers are willing to jump through just to get a few points? "Ooh, if I buy Pringles I'll get 100 points, but not if I buy crisps. And I'd better buy a ton of rhubarb and six bunches of overpriced flowers, as they earn points, too'
Waitrose is similarly afflicted with its hopeless voucher system - the bane of their checkout assistants' lives, as customers fiddle with their mobile phones trying to find their 50p off coupons and then get the system to recognise them, while the queue behind them grows ever more restless..
Tesco and Sainsbury's for all their faults, get it right. You spend money, you get points and don't need to do any fancy footwork to know which products earn points and which don't. What's more, you get special discounts and pretty good ones at times, too.
