THANK YOU. I will check to see if anyone I know is with Octopus.Spoonie_Turtle said:
There is still the referral scheme, you just get a code from an existing customer.Mabel2012 said:The last time I switched to Octopus they offered a £50 referral fee but I don't see that on their website. Have they stopped offering it?

It got the money without an actual referral. The email said I was referred by Greg, which I think is their CEO. For a moment I thought it was Greggs.1

Last time I joined Octopus, about 4 years ago, referrals were all over the place, especially on this Forum, but not this time. I may post a message on the Next Door app to see if anyone there is interested. That is not my reason for switching to them, it is because they don't require me to accept smart metres and there is no exit fee if I have a problem with them and want to move to another supplier.bob2302 said:It got the money without an actual referral. Later: I found some on Facebook.0 -
Well here’s a smart metre for you 1 metre is approximately 3.208 feet , lame excuse for a joke, no reason not to have a smart meter unless you don’t want to save money.Mabel2012 said:

Wow those OP rates are eye watering, last I compared areas the worst area was the West Country, mine are 14p and 4p less per dayjames00744 said:The last I heard was that there wasn't any point moving to another supplier, as the rates are pretty much the same - is anybody with Octopus or recently moved? The current price appears to be:31.200p per kWh59.057p per day Standing Charge. That Standing Charge seems insane.0 -
31.2p is well over the price cap for any region, so it must be a long-term fixed rate.DisabledDan said:

(The standing charge is probably about the same or even higher now, though.)0 -
They did, but it took them 18 months after installing them to get them to work. Turns out, all they had to do was read out a number over the phone. Why they couldn't tell me this on the three occasions I chased them, I don't know.Leon_W said:I've read that Octopus at least try to get your smart meters working
Other than that, I have been pleased.0
