Octopus Energy: Is it worth moving suppliers?

The last I heard was that there wasn't any point moving to another supplier, as the rates are pretty much the same - is anybody with Octopus or recently moved?
The current price appears to be:
31.200p per kWh
59.057p per day Standing Charge.
That Standing Charge seems insane.

The Octopus standing charge is about 4% lower than the cap, so moving is likely to prove more expensive.

Thanks for the reply. Crazy prices. But they know that themselves.

It can be better for their Customer Service, getting a monthly bill vs 6 monthly, more choice of "time of use" tariffs, the £100 welcome bonus (split between you and whoever referred you), and in my case, because British Gas were annoying me.
Unit rates may vary obvs, but they were a smidge cheaper too; about £12/year based on my usage.1 -
My Dad moved to Octopus from British Gas at the start of the month when his previous 2 year fix ended. We both got £50 credit as a referral bonus, and they've booked him in for someone to come fix or replace his un-commissioned smart gas meter, rather than the fob off BG gave him3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). I've moved from Scottish Power to Octopus recently because Scottish Power are 100% useless. I've read that Octopus at least try to get your smart meters working so am willing to give this a go as SP were completely disinterested in doing anything regarding my non working meters.

I’m not sure where the OP lives but my standing charge with Octopus is 53.96p. I understand it is different in different parts of the country.I’ve been with octopus for two months and am very happy with the service and costs so far.The whole experience just seems better than dealing with the usual suspects.1

If nothing else it's worth switching to Octopus for the £50 bonus. Otherwise they also have a market-leading range of smart tariffs for people with solar and/or EVs.0

Worth moving if you are with BG new account (and other similarly !!!!!! energy co's) and want variable direct debit, otherwise probably worth waiting to see what deals turn up. I moved from Octopus to BG but only because the latter were offering a fixed term (now expired) with low s/c - BG are annoying because they have made three attempts to increase the DD despite always having credit on the account, sorted via chat. Moving house soon so won't bother moving back to Octopus, the account can still be logged into BTW so probably would not get the referral fee.0

I'm thinking of moving to Octopus Energy on the Octopus 12M Fixed June 2024 v1. There are no exit fees and I don't have to agree to having a smart meter fitted. I have ignored Sainsburys/Eon appointment requests for the past year but they are getting more persistent. If I had an electric vehicle and off road parking, I would be pestering them to install a smart meter but that is not the case. The last time I switched to Octopus they offered a £50 referral fee but I don't see that on their website. Have they stopped offering it?
