Parking in Denver, CO

We're due to fly to Denver on Thursday (25th) My SO has a few days at a conference from Thurs to Mon & I'm tagging along then we have a week or so added to holiday. I've just checked the parking situation at the Conference hotel (Hyatt Regency, Denver) and discovered it's $47/day! Any suggestions for cheaper parking for a few days? We've debated whether to hire a car for the first few days at all or wait until we leave for our tour - this might actually sway our decision as we haven't booked the car yet!

It’s a nice hotel and the convention centre is just opposite so nice handy location. I had an enjoyable stay there a couple of years back. I did not rent a car when I was there, getting a cab from the airport and Uber when in town, then took the airport rail back to DEN at the end.
You will be near to the main downtown shopping drag and a couple of small malls. I do recall a couple of close by car parking facilities plus some metered parking but did not really pay attention to the cost. Perhaps use Google Maps to look for nearby parking lots and then check rates. I however suspect any parking near to the convention centre and downtown won’t be that cheap.0
