I suspect the applicable law is the same - it's just a question of how it's enforced if the trader is in Scotland. (I suppose if the OP is going to threaten them with resorting to court action it might be more convincing if they identify the correct procedure... )

I see CAB have an advice page and a 'phone number for the Money Claim Court helpline. They can't give legal advice but might be able to advise OP if they can issue a claim in England? Tel: 0300 123 1372
