Broken glass delivered by Amazon, cut myself, quick question

After several disappointing experiences I’ve given up ordering anything from Amazon which is a liquid or breakable.
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
£50 sounds pretty good to me, I'm surprised they offered anything to be honest.1

To be honest they asked for photos and they were gruesome, and they had delivered me a glass jar that was held together, as soon as I opened it it shattered, it's kind of on them.tightauldgit said:£50 sounds pretty good to me, I'm surprised they offered anything to be honest.0 -
Then why did you turn down £25, and now asking if £50 is enough?ev8 said:
Yeah, I don't really want to claim for anything. I couldn't go, the A&E times are crazy here, and I'm also vulnerable, so I can't easily risk getting COVID.Ectophile said:Any claim for compensation isn't going to be helped by the fact that you haven't seen any medical professional about the injury.1 -
They offered £50, I didn't ask for £50. I didn't so much turn down £25, but said I didn't accept them saying they were in no way to blame, so I wouldn't accept a £25 giftcard and a no admission of liability.sheramber said:

If you're hoping for an admission of liability then I suspect you'll be waiting a long time!ev8 said:

Yeah, I guess so. I think I was just annoyed yesterday because it hurt so much and I thought it was their fault, so just it.eskbanker said:

Perhaps it is their fault, or at least partially or even mostly so, but there's a big difference between that and actually getting them to admit liability in writing, so if that's what you're hoping for then I think you'll be disappointed.ev8 said:

Whether the photos are gruesome or not doesn't affect their liability though. Sometimes accidents happen.ev8 said:

Amazon have a policy for injury claims in the US, it hasn't filtered through to the UK (yet at least).
OP you have 3 options:
1) Accept £50
2) Complain higher with Amazon and they might offer more (possibly will).
3) Speak to a personal injury firm
