Cheapest Way to Extend your Router Internet Signal to the 3rd Floor of a house

Perhaps not in a shop here but elsewhere.actually I have never seen a shortage of interpreters for immigrants in this country wherever they seem to go, public services, NHS, etc. unlike Spain, but in actual fact her husband does speak a little bit of Spanish as long as they speak slowly which many Spanish people do not unfortunately, but you have to rely on the person answering the phone to pass on your request for a call back. It took them 3 weeks to get to speak to someone who spoke a bit of English and together with my son in law's Spanglish between them they could understand what they wanted.unforeseen said:problem is no one there speaks English
The problem is actually that your daughter doesn't speak Spanish. You wouldn't expect an ISP in this country to have Spanish speakers on the call desk.0 -
Thought you would like to know that I contacted Tenda Nova for advice on which of their systems to use and explained the situation with my daughter's house and this is what they recommended for multiple streaming users:Keithy13 said:Mesh wifi is the most reliable way. I use Eero from Amazon (not the cheapest but strong signal right around the house and past the end of the garden). Tenda Nova one on ebay for around £40

I can get one for £63 on eBay which seems reasonable although I think this is for just one node and we probably need 3, one for each floor, what do you think of this system ?

The Tenda Nova MW12 is ok but not the best out there in that price range.
Just Google best mesh networks 2023 to get an idea of what is available. The Amazon eero6 gets pretty good reviews and is said to be easy to set up. It costs more than the Tenda Nova but the performance is way better. Have a look at user reviews and user questions on the Amazon site.
Just remember that the base unit has to be connected to your router (and a power supply) but if possible move the unit into the open with a longish connecting cable and position the other 2 units on the other floors. The Amazon eero app helps you to position them for best results.1 -
Will take a look and thanks for your help.😁Neil49 said:The Tenda Nova MW12 is ok but not the best out there in that price range.

Don't forget that if you buy in the UK for use in Spain they will come with UK plugs. You can buy cheap adapters but they aren't as convenient.Leodogger said:

I did think of that and whether we could take them with us, but as long as the adaptors don't interfere with the performance it should be OK I guess.Neil49 said:

Tested using a computer connected to the router by an ethernet cable?Leodogger said:
By the way, she was told by her internet supplier of Fibre Broadband that she would get up to 300mbps speed on her internet, she is getting about 30mbps in busy times and up to 50 mbps in quiet times !flavione74 said:
At this point, rather than a booster, I would go for a mesh solution, which wouldn't come cheap though.Leodogger said:
I did ask her about running a router up there but she said there is no way to get the wiring up there, she lives in a village house and the walls are about a foot thick lol ! I thought there might be a way to add a booster instead.
